Improving human health

In 2011, Olmix created its Amadéite subsidiary to lead the Group’s R&D activities and develop its expertise in blue biotechnology for the human health sector.

Olmix Group’s Human Care Division is aimed at the agrifood industry, exploiting the many properties of algae as functional ingredients, dietary supplements and health-food products.

Our ambition of improving human nutrition by reducing or eliminating the use of synthetic additives has led us to develop natural alternatives such as:

  • Natural emulsifiers and thickeners
  • Functional ingredients (e.g. prebiotic molecules and antioxydants).
  • Health-boosting molecules

These different approaches to using the properties of certain algal extracts at different stages of food processing or preparation is one of the paths chosen by Olmix Group to reduce food safety risks
