Judged by a panel of 6 renowned judges, which included Alan Jagoe - former Macra and CEJA president - Paula Hynes - RTE Hardest Harvest fame - and Ailish Moriarty -2019 Nuffield Scholar and milk quality expert, Mistral was chosen as winner in the science section.
What is Mistral?
Mistral is used to improve animal welfare and hygiene. It has many applications such as cubicles and calf/calving pens. The product is also used for dry footbathing. The footbath can be placed at the exit of the milking parlour or robot, in out-of-parlour feeders or in a cubicle with a molassed mineral block/bucket for enticement.
Results speak for themselves
Trials conducted by Olmix Group have shown a 38% decrease in new DD lesions and a 1.2kg increase in milk production. In terms of the increased milk production, research alone has concluded that the product provides a 4:1 (ROI). Mistral is also certified for organic farming.
