The 1st EIB Venture Debt Summit, the first annual event for businesses benefiting from EIB’s venture debt financing, was held yesterday at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg, bringing together around 100 CEOs from prestigious international companies, their private fund sponsors, financial advisors, the European Commission, EIB staff and media, among others.
The event offered a full day of round tables focused on the development of the European venture capital market and also specific panels dedicated to life sciences/biotech, clean tech and software industries.
In this context, Olmix Group, represented by Mr Hervé Balusson, Olmix’s CEO & President, and Mrs Pi Nyvall, Olmix Group's Scientific Director, was awarded for ‘Innovation in Biotechnology’ by EIB Vice-President Mr Ambroise Fayolle.
The EIB and Olmix Group signed a €30 million funding boost to the French Group last September to further develop the company’s global breeding programmes with natural solutions based on algae extracts, without the use of chemical ingredients.
Mr Hervé Balusson received the prize from the hands of Mr Ambroise Fayolle.
