Mr Hervé Balusson, Olmix Group’s CEO & Founder participated in the international meeting organized by MEDEF International at the World Bank in Washington, USA.

As every year, MEDEF International, a non-profit private-funded organisation that represents the French private sector at an international level, gathered a delegation of several major French and African business leaders for an international meeting at the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, USA, held from 4-7 June.

As a unique opportunity to exchange on innovation, development and economic matters in France and in the African continent, Mr Hervé Balusson, Olmix Group’s CEO & Founder, had the chance to share the main steps that Olmix Group is taking towards a global, healthy, sustainable and low carbon agri-food chain by making good use of natural and sustainable resources.

Olmix Group counts on 20 years of on-field practical experience using trace elements, clay minerals and marine algae; the 3 of them allows us to offer natural, sustainable and respectful solutions for the plant, animal and human health industries. We aim to exploit the collective knowledge to develop our vision, which is no other than ‘One Health, Thanks to Algae”, Mr Balusson said.

Placing algae at the heart of the Olmix Group’s business, Mr Balusson highlighted the use that humanity has made of algae along history -they were already used as food and fertilizer in the 18th century- and the many possibilities they are to offer to develop better agriculture practices:

Algae have been used by humans even from the 18th century, when they were as fertilizer and even as food complement for their unique healthy properties. Now, in the 21st century, Olmix Group is able to make the most of them through the extraction of bio-compounds for food, feed, plants and biotechnology”.

Lastly, the Olmix Group’s CEO explained how the company’s philosophy and approach is shared by the majority of their customers, which is considered to be of vital importance when it comes to business relationships.

Our customers share our values and that is why our expectations are the same as theirs: respect for plants, respect for animals and respect for the environment. Thanks to the marine biomass we are able to produce co-products and by-products to be used for animal farming and plant growth in a natural and environmentally friendly way”, he explained.
